Yasmine Stanley
Meet Yasmine
Secretary for BLAAC
My name is Yasmine Stanley, and I serve as the secretary for BLAAC. I was born and raised in a small rural town in Mississippi and have been a resident of Texas since January 2017. I am the mother of a 13-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a master’s degree in special education with a certification in Educational Diagnostician. I have been an educator for nearly 10 years, specializing in Special Education Services. I have served in a number of capacities in education, and I am knowledgeable in many areas of specialized education.
As an educator, I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment in my classroom, where all students feel valued and supported. I believe in the power of building relationships with my students, getting to know each one individually and understanding their unique strengths and challenges.
When I am not serving students and the community, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing word games, volunteering, and being active in various ministries in my church.
Our Journey Towards Educational Equity
Since its inception, BLAAC has been dedicated to empowering children in DFW with essential literacy and math skills. Through personalized tutoring, mentoring, and social-emotional learning programs, BLAAC has grown to be a pillar of support for students struggling in public schools.
BLAAC has made great strides in enhancing literacy and math skills for children aged 5-14 in underserved communities of DFW. What began as a tutoring service evolved into a holistic educational initiative, providing academic support and mentorship to those in need.
